Memory Verses: John 14:23
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
The invitation is given to every person by Jesus Christ: “Come to me! Follow me! Be my disciples!”
We come to this place, to this time, at the invitation of Jesus Christ.
we accept the invitation to discipleship.
as his disciples, we worship and praise God.
In the midst of a world where cruelty abounds,
we proclaim the God of Compassion.
In the midst of despair that threatens to swallow up whole lives, whole peoples,
we proclaim the God of Hope.
In the midst of indifference and apathy,
we proclaim the God of Love.
Come, let us worship together and share our witness of God’s living presence in the world.
Eternal God, You were present at the beginning;
You hold in being all that now is; You will be there at the end. You matter more than anything else. You alone are worthy of worship. Although we know this, we have often forgotten you. We have not been watching for the signs of your activity in the world. We have not been listening for your word to our time. Even when we have seen and heard, we have not always been ready to follow and obey. Forgive us, we pray. In the days ahead help us to put you first in our lives. Open our eyes to see what is really happening in the world, to see what you are doing in the lives of individuals, families and nations. Open our ears to hear what you are saying to us, so that we may know what you want us to do. Give us such trust in the power of the risen Christ, that we may seek above all else to do his will. Amen

Obedience: Rules & Actions

As a Fire Is Meant for Burning (TFWS 2237)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. The third day he arose from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Invitation to Table (UMH p. 12)
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise God all creatures here below. Praise him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen
The Great Thanksgiving (UMH p. 13)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
